Full answer

Printed size is 20x23x1 — a less common 1-inch-class furnace or AC filter (the same panel is sometimes labeled 23x20x1). This page is only the MERV 13 slice of that size. On 28 Oct 2026 we read the Filtrete MPR 1900 (MERV 13) 4-pack on Amazon ($63.15, $15.79 each, sold by Amazon.com) and the Nordic Pure MERV 13 menu on nordicpure.com (via Awin), where this size comes only as a custom-made 6-pack ($149.70, $24.95 each). Honeywell Store does not list a 20x23x1 filter, so there is no Honeywell card. The Filtrete MPR 1900 Amazon listing gives an actual size of 19.68 × 22.68 × 0.78. This is not a 20x24x1, 20x25x1 or 20x22x1. Compare all MERV levels on the parent 20x23x1 size page.

Why MERV 13?

MERV 13 catches more fine particles (smoke, some bacteria, fine dust) than MERV 8 or 11, per the EPA MERV table. In a 1-inch filter that comes with more airflow resistance, so it suits systems that run well with a denser filter. Change it on schedule.

Actual size by brand
  • Filtrete 20x23x1 MPR 1900 (MERV 13): 19.68 × 22.68 × 0.78 (Amazon B0F9LV4KYL title “Act Size 19.68x22.68x0.78 in” and product-dimensions field 23" × 20" × 0.78", as recorded on the parent page; on 20 Oct the listing title read “Filtrete 20x23x1 Air Filter, MERV 13, MPR 1900, 4 HVAC Filters”).
  • Nordic Pure 20x23x1 (custom-made): Nordic Pure’s page does not print a numeric actual size for this size, so none is given here.

Filtrete’s other 20x23x1 lines print 19.68–19.69 × 22.68–22.69 × 0.81. If the slot is tight, measure the old filter first: how to measure.

When not to buy MERV 13 in 1-inch

If your system manual limits filter resistance, or you notice weak airflow, a noisy blower or a frozen coil after switching, step down to MERV 8 or 11 on the 20x23x1 page and ask an HVAC tech. More on ratings: MERV explained.
