20x24x1 MERV 13: pack prices & where to buy

Printed size is 20x24x1 (same panel as 24x20x1). This page is only the MERV 13 slice — Honeywell Ultra Efficiency MERV 13 (sold by the Honeywell Store in 4- and 12-packs) and Nordic Pure MERV 13 (factory 24-pack). Nominal 20×24×1 is larger than the cut panel: Honeywell prints 19.75 × 23.75 × 0.75 (“recommended dimensions to fit: 20 x 24 x 1 in.”), Filtrete MPR 1900 / MERV 13 lists closer to 19.81 × 23.81 × 0.78, and Nordic Pure is about 19.5 × 23.44 × 0.75 (19½ × 23 7/16 × ¾). Switching from Nordic Pure to Honeywell or Filtrete gives a snugger slide-in. This is not 20x25x1, 16x24x1, or 20x20x1. Measure and compare brands on the parent 20x24x1 size page.

Honeywell Store Ultra 4-pack $60.95 ($15.24/filter) and 12-pack $170.95 ($14.25/filter) read from the live product pages on 4 Oct 2026 (product:price, In Stock). Honeywell also shows a higher list price ($79.95 / $219.95) and a 10% subscribe price ($54.86 / $153.86); the cards print the one-time price anyone pays. Nordic Pure MERV 13 24-pack $279.99 ($11.67/filter) keeps its last factory check date (29 Sep 2026, same dollars as the 15 Sep 2026 factory cart); tonight’s plain read of nordicpure.com hit a bot check, so the date is not bumped. No Target or Amazon Buy row on this page yet: Target’s Filtrete 20x24x1 MPR 1900 (A-51885735) has not had a cart price read, and no Amazon dollars are invented. No Filterbuy chart scrapes.

What MERV 13 means here

MERV is ASHRAE 52.2, as summarized by EPA. MERV 13 is the band EPA cites as ≥50% capture of 0.30–1.0 µm, ≥85% of 1.0–3.0 µm, and ≥90% of 3.0–10.0 µm. A 1-inch MERV 13 is not HEPA. We do not claim health outcomes. Higher MERV adds resistance: a 1-inch MERV 13 typically drops more pressure than MERV 8 or 11 in the same slot. EPA’s upgrade language is to pick at least MERV 13, or as high a rating as your system fan and filter slot can accommodate, and to ask an HVAC technician if you are unsure. Full 8 vs 11 vs 13 table: MERV guide. Filtrete also prints an MPR number — MPR 1900 family pages print MERV 13; MPR is 3M’s scale, not MERV (see MPR vs MERV).

MERV 13 20x24x1 options

Actual sizes are copied from manufacturer or merchant product copy (Honeywell Store product page; the parent 20x24x1 page for Filtrete and Nordic Pure). Prices are public shelf/cart snapshots — Honeywell read live 4 Oct 2026; Nordic Pure last factory check 29 Sep 2026. Per-filter math is pack price ÷ count, rounded to the cent. They are not live carts after you leave this page. Shipping, subscribe-and-save, and store-only deals will move them.

• Honeywell Ultra 4-pack vs 12-pack: $15.24 vs $14.25 per filter — the 12-pack saves about $0.99 per filter (about $11.90 over 12 filters vs three 4-packs) if you will use them. Honeywell rates each filter for up to 3 months, so a 12-pack is roughly three years of single-slot changes; a 4-pack is about a year.
• Nordic Pure 24-pack: lowest per-filter number here ($11.67), but it is a $279.99 order and about six years of quarterly changes for one slot. It makes sense for homes with two or more 20x24x1 returns.
• Filtrete MPR 1900: prints MERV 13 (Amazon B07FPB8H11 title lists actual 19.81 × 23.81 × 0.78). We have not printed a price for it on this page until a cart price is read.

Target’s Filtrete 20x24x1 MPR 1000 1-pack on the parent page (A-14695650) is MERV 11 class — useful nearby stock, but not MERV 13. Full 20x24x1 pack table including MERV 8 and 11: 20x24x1.

Filtrete MPR is not MERV — see MPR vs MERV. Pack math vs cost per year: 6-pack vs 12-pack.

When not to buy MERV 13 in 1-inch

• The furnace or air-handler manual calls for a lower MERV (or a named brand/grade below 13). Follow the equipment, not a search query.
• An HVAC technician says the fan cannot take the extra pressure drop of a 1-inch MERV 13.
• The slot is a 4-inch (or 5-inch) media cabinet. A 1-inch MERV 13 is not a 4-inch media cartridge.
• You need 20x25x1, 16x24x1, or 20x20x1 — different printed sizes (common mix-ups with 20x24x1). A 20x25x1 is an inch too long for a 20x24x1 rack.
• Pets / allergies pressure is real, but choking the fan is worse — start from pets / allergies and how often.

If you are unsure, ask an HVAC technician. EPA’s wording is at least MERV 13 or as high as the fan and slot can accommodate — not “always MERV 13 in every 1-inch rack.”

20x24x1 MERV 13 FAQ

Is 24x20x1 the same filter as 20x24x1?

Yes. Same panel, axes swapped. Order 20x24x1 (or 24x20x1) and check the 1-inch thickness.

Will a 20x25x1 fit a 20x24x1 slot?

No. It is about an inch longer and will bow or not close. Buy the printed size on your old filter frame.

How often should I change a 1-inch MERV 13?

Honeywell rates its Ultra 20x24x1 for up to 3 months; finer media can load faster in dusty homes, with pets, or during smoke events. Check it monthly at first. More: how often.

Is the Honeywell subscribe price on the card?

No. Cards show the one-time price. The Honeywell Store offers 10% off on subscription ($54.86 / $153.86 on 4 Oct 2026).
