“20x25x5” covers two different media-cabinet cartridges. Honeywell F100/F200 and Lennox Healthy Climate cabinets use a cartridge about 4⅜ inches deep (Nordic Pure prints 19 7/8 × 24 7/8 × 4 3/8; Lennox prints 19-3/4 × 24-3/4 × 4-3/8). Trion Air Bear, Bryant and Carrier cabinets use a deeper ~4¾-inch cartridge (Filtrete’s Air Bear-fit MPR 1900 prints 19.56 × 24.13 × 4.75). On 29 Oct 2026 the cheapest MERV 13 per filter was the Nordic Pure Honeywell/Lennox 4-pack on nordicpure.com at $134.99 ($33.75 each). The Nordic Pure 2-pack was $81.99 ($41.00 each) and the 1-pack $41.99. For Air Bear-style cabinets, the Filtrete MPR 1900 2-pack on Amazon was $79.34 ($39.67 each, sold by Amazon.com). Do not put a 4¾-inch Air Bear cartridge in a Honeywell/Lennox cabinet, or the reverse — match the depth of the cartridge you pull out.

Which cabinet do I have?
  • Honeywell F100 / F200 or Lennox Healthy Climate media cabinet: the old cartridge is about 4⅜ inches deep. Honeywell prints the FC100A1037 as 20x25x4 even though many stores sell it as 20x25x5. Buy a “Honeywell/Lennox replacement” 20x25x5.
  • Trion Air Bear-style cabinet (Filtrete also lists Bryant, Carrier and Totaline): the old cartridge is about 4¾–4⅞ inches deep. Buy an “Air Bear-fit” 20x25x5.

Why MERV 13?

MERV 13 catches more fine particles (smoke, some bacteria, fine dust) than MERV 8 or 11, per the EPA MERV table. A 4–5-inch media cartridge has far more pleat area than a 1-inch panel, so MERV 13 adds little airflow resistance in these cabinets, and the cartridge usually lasts 6–12 months. Check it when the season changes and replace it when it looks gray.
